PERSONAL PASTEL RECORD To help organize your favorite colors, we have designed the Personal Pastel Record. The record is printed on Coventry Rag paper with space on each page for 30 color swatches, the color name and color number. The Recbinder is a refillable Kooolbind with pre-punched pages. We also sell the 8 1/2” x 11” pages of the Personal Pastel Record in 10 packs either pre-punched for the Kooolbind or un-punched.

DAKOTA EXCLUSIVE HANDMADE COLOR CHARTS Color charts made with the actual pastels are the most accurate means of selecting color. We produce the following color charts at Dakota Pastels. The charts we make are on Somerset Satin Radiant White paper in an 8 1/2” x 11” format and are lightly fixed with Perfix fixative. You can also purchase a blank chart (with spaces for each pastel and the pastel number) for each line to make your own chart or to fill in colors as you get them (if you don’t have the full line).

COMPARING PASTEL LINES We are often asked to compare the different lines of pastels to help customers decide which pastels they should purchase. In the catalog copy we try to supply as much information as possible in an objective manner. Of course, a lot of what goes into deciding which is the right pastel is very subjective. Factors such as color range, physical characteristics (hard/soft, square/round, big/small) and economics all enter into which is the right pastel for you. The one area in which we can give a 'general' classification is softness. Keep in mind that this is a general classification - some pastels vary within the line and many of these are so close it's difficult to rate one softer than the other. #1 is the softest.
