The colors were a little too muted for my taste. I would have liked a bright magenta and a deep purple. They are very soft and if you aren't careful, they will crumble with just the slightest pressure. I have decided to use them for finishing touches. Over all I think I would buy another set.

What I love about the Blue Earth “Drifter 28” pastels: the versatile colors, the stick size and the packaging. Handle with care, as they are very soft. JB

I am happy with the colors and the packaging. They are very soft. It took some practice to figure out how hard or soft to apply, as a few of them crumbled a bit. I mostly use them for finishing touches. I would not recommend for beginners.

these are exceptional soft pastels. Rich in pigment and so velvet like....buttery. Love the!

This is my first set of Blue Earth soft pastels. I bought them for plein air painting, but find I’m using them in the studio too. The arrangement by value is genius. I will be purchasing more!

Soft and creamy, wonderful colors and feel

Received these and really like them. Never used Blue Earth pastels before and love the creamy texture of the pastels. There is a good variety of colors and values.

There is so much to like: the box container that can go plein air and the lucious colors, buttery softness, and rectangular shape.

These pastels are soft and luscious. Looking forward to using Drifter set when I travel!

I purchased this set specifically for travel. We have a small camper van with little room for extras. This set is compact and sturdy. The colors are lovely and with the addition of a couple of hard pastels should be perfect.

I purchased the Drifter set and love the colors. They will work well in the landscape and complement the small portrait set I have. These pastels are very creamy.

The pastels were smaller than I thought they would be. It’s more like a sampler box. I do love them though small. Nancy Young

My first big pastel set was from Sennelier, and I love them for their quality pigments and vibrant colors. I've since tried a few sticks from Mount Vision, Jack Richeson hand-rolled and Unison, and I like them very much as well. But my absolute favorite has become Blue Earth! I love everything about them, and their texture and consistency is superb. I'm so glad I bought this set, and I can't wait to add more to my collection.

Smaller than anticipated. Packaging is wholly impractical. Hard to get them in and out without crushing them. Box not useful for storage and access for ongoing use.

Wonderful Buttery soft pastels with rich colors. The drifter palette was a great value to try a range of colors. A nice addition to my pastel tools! I’m looking at the greens for my next purchase.

I used the Drifter set once and am very satisfied with the coverage and feel of these soft pastels. Even though the pieces are relatively small and may not last too long, I would still order Blue Earth pastels again.

I purchased Blue Earth Drifter 28 because of the colors. The set seemed to contain colors that I did not have I like Blue Earth and I particularly like their packaging. Right now I keep my pastels in the boxes they come in and the Blue Earth makes it easy for me to see the colors and also a reminder to put them back in the box.

The Blue Earth pastels are wonderfully soft and I love that they come in a range of values clearly indicated by the labels. Also, the site is easy to navigate and service/delivery is prompt.

I love these soft creamy pastels. The colors are beautiful. They are small and easy to pack up and use plein air. I purchased the portrait set previously and loved them. They are definitely one of my favorite pastels.

I love how soft and buttery these pastels are and this set is perfect for trying them out. Even the darker colors are very soft unlike many other brands and the colors are very true to life. The only negative is the sticks are small which makes them a more expensive option.

Blue Earth are the perfect pastels for working out of doors. I've used them from years for seascapes. The Drifter 28 set looks like it will be perfect for rural and urban scenes. It will be perfect for travel as well. 28 impeccably chosen colors packed perfectly: what could be better?

This interesting box of color is going to make interesting marks and love the texture. Wish I could buy more Blue Earth.

These are such beautiful colors in the Drifter 28. I tried out a few and they are much softer than I was expecting and crumble bits when using. I will need to be be very careful when using these to make sure little bits don’t go where I don’t want them, but the gorgeous colors make up for that.

Love this set for taking outside, wonderful colors for those final accent marks especially. But good on its own with a few hard pastels for darks and underpainting.
