PREMIUM PASTEL SURFACES

Soft pastels are unique as a color medium in that they do not have a binder to hold them to a surface. Pastel papers with coated surfaces are specifically designed to help hold pastel. The coarser or denser the texture is of the surface, the greater the ability to hold multiple layers of pastel. The variety of coated surfaces now being produced gives pastel artists a wide array of textures, colors and working characteristics to choose from.
