REMBRANDT PASTELS

Crafted in Holland since 1899, Rembrandt, living up to its legendary namesake, has grown to be one of the art world's most reputable brands. Working closely alongside artists, Rembrandt has developed a line of pastels with an emphasis on color, light fastness, and high quality pigments in combination with only the purest and softest forms of kaolin as a binder. One can rely on consistency and smooth application from Rembrandt, as they are free of metal-based pigments such as lead, cadmium, and cobalt, which can result in hard bits within the pastel stick. Rembrandt are great for under painting and details that require precise strokes. In 2014 Rembrandt added 15 new extra dark shades (.2), bringing the total colors in the line to 218. The 225 full set in a wood box has 203 colors plus extra white, black and duplicates of other popular colors in a deluxe wood box (new darks not included).
