These sticks are perfect. Just the right size to maneuver to paint petals, leaves, etc. and so densely pigmented that the lightest touch leaves opaque marks. They are the pinnacle of perfection for a pastel artist. Due note that this set contain lots of blues but not many greens. Other hues are balanced in numbers. And of course Schmincke white, the best white on the market in my experience, is the only stick duplicated. Have fun!

Beautiful soft and buttery pastel sticks. Lovely colors!!

I purchased the 120 half stick set to give these a try. I love how they are like velvet and smooth, yet very compressed. Definitely a very soft, smooth pastel. I look forward to using them.

I waited a long time for Schminke to offer their half-stick sets again and it was totally worth it. Plus, Dakota is offering it at a great price. These pastels are very soft but so sweet to use, especially at the end of a painting. I also find the colors to be helpful as the palette is a different hue than most of my other pastels (which are mostly Terry Ludwig). I generally like to integrate my sets into my main palette but these are staying in their box. This is so I can keep track of them and know where they are when I need them. Treat yourself to this set if you can afford it. You won't regret it! N
