My Dakota Premium boards arrived in perfect packaging - a truck could have trundled over the package and the boards would have survived! Looking forward to graduating to the pristine 16 x 20 boards that i now have to do something exciting with. (I was at the Teresa Saia workshop at Dakota back in May. Dakota is a classy company.)

"Great surface for pastel - rough cut edges"
Great for working with soft pastels - slightly disappointed at the rough-cut edges - dull blade maybe? This won't show when framed, but still, I'd prefer some attention to this small detail. Love the variety available on the Dakota Pastels site.

"pastel premiere paper mounted"
great surface to work on - willing to take many layers of pastel - and having it mounted - just makes it that much better - firm surface -for me-gives extra painting opportunities and extra options for framing possibilities- great product -great company - great supplier!

"Dakota Premier boards"
These are the closest supports to the late lamented Kitty Wallis paper. My only complaint is that there is a lot of memory (curvature) to the boards which can complicate framing.

"Pastel premier 8ply"
Some of these batches have so much memory (curvature) that they would be almost impossible to frame. I'm going to contact them about a return. Not all batches have had this problem. UArt boards sometimes have the same problem. 4ply boards are flatter.

"By far my favorite boards for pastels."
These boards are where my search ended. Perfect amount of tooth. Convenient to frame and colors that I love all in one!
