The gesture pose with pastel and mixed media!

Each day we will have a model and be introduced to a host of novel approaches to capturing 5-15 minute gesture poses. We will be using PanPastel, soft stick pastel, water mixable oil, brayers, rubbings, monotypes, stencils, sumi ink, cut outs, and oil pastel, as well as other materials. The goal is to quickly capture poses on a host of traditional and non-traditional surfaces. We will work fairly small in order to efficiently explore many ways of layering pastel additively and subtractively. This is a great way to get your figure drawing feet wet, or to take a deep dive into unchartered waters. Composition and design will be an overarching focus for the workshop, and all levels are welcome!
