    "good and bad"
.Love the texture. not really velvet, just fine. Warm pack was fine; a bit dark, but the cool pack was black, almost black and very dark gray; not like the colors shown on the cover.

    "Best pastel paper ever!"
The Canson Velvet paper is the best pastel paper yet!! It takes many layers of pastels and is smooth to the touch and gentle wirh your pastel sticks. I just love this paper!

    "Different texture"
Different texture and application of pastels than used to. Find greater use of New Pastels more effective. Surface doesn’t smudge as much but removal of marks not as clean

    "Canson velvet surface"
I found the Canson velvet surface to be similar to Clairfontane Pastlemat. It holds the pastel well enough to avoid using fixative and does not “eat up” my pastels as much as a grittier paper does.

    "Canson Velvet"
Depends on what you want. Great for layering soft pastel but you cannot blend or smudge. Nice and heavy, won't curl.

    "Love this paper"
This feels like pastel mat yet holds a lot more pastel…no dust falling … love it

    "Canson Velvet"
I’m really happy with this new pastel paper. I bought the cream color and did water color under paintings on two pieces I just did. It doesn’t buckle at all. I also like the weight of the paper and its ability to hold multiple layers of pastel.

    "Love this paper"
First: I love Dakota pastels Second: I love this paper! It lies flat no matter what and the texture, which feels like pastel mat, holds a ton of layers and doesn’t drop dust! I almost always have to use fixative but with paper I never do.

    "Lovely paper!"
I think this has become my favorite pastel paper. You can layer forever, for one thing. The paper isn’t too gritty, yet holds pastel nicely. I don’t feel like I have to use a fixative when I layer too much, or when finished with a painting.

    "Great product"
I like a paper that can take layers, so I thought I would give this a try. First project is taking the layers and is very nice to work on. I tend to lean towards sanded papers, but this is a nice alternative and keeps me from wearing the skin off the tips of my fingers when blending like I do on sanded paper!

    "Review Canson Velvet"
Canson Velvet is quickly becoming one of my favorite surfaces to work on. I love the way it takes and holds the pastel, multiple layers and blending nicely.

    "Canson velvet pastel paper"
Title is misleading While the paper is of good quality is is not a velvet Finish

    "Canson Velvet Pads"
I am in love with this paper! It makes my pastel work glow and grabs the pastel well making for less "fall-off" and less mess. The paper comes in lovely tones and I just cannot say anything uncomplimentary about this paper!

    "Canson Velvet Pads"
I found this paper to be on par with Pastelmat. The Canson paper is a little thicker and seemed to have a tiny bit more texture than Pastelmat. I will be ordering more of this paper for sure. The Canson Velvet pad does not have glassine between each sheet. This isn't a deal breaker for me.

    "Th Canson Velvet paper"
Most interesting paper with much potential when applying the pastels correctly. Certainly worth the investment.
