Paper has a nice, even tooth to it--holds the pastel well. I've used water/alcohol washes on it and it doesn't buckle. This is one of my favorite brands of paper!

"Love This Paper"
I absolutely love using Lux Archival paper. It takes watercolor and acrylic underpainting and multiple layers of pastel. I achieve remarkable effects with it. Colors pop off the paper.

I’m very thankful to Dakota Pastels for the sample of LuxArchival I received with my order!!!
Wow! This paper accepts layers upon layers. A true gift for pastel lovers. I now use Uart and LuxArchival pastel paper.
Love them both.

This paper takes wet underpinnings beautifully and it doesn't buckle.

"The Best!"
This is frankly the best surface I have ever used! It has a good and even texture, equivalent to a 400-grit I believe. It is tough and can take a lot of punishment without weakening the grit. The paper also holds a lot of pastel. Painting is easier with LuxArchival.

"LuxArchival"
Have only used this paper a few times and so far, loving it! I did an underpainting with alcohol, put pastel on it and brushed it off, put more alcohol on it and the paper has withstood all of my abuse. My new favorite!!

"Love this paper!!"
This paper reminds me of Wallis paper. You can apply layer after layer after layer. You can scrub it, wet it, abuse it and no buckling , and no need to add fixative to get more tooth.. It is worth ever penny you pay for it. This is my new 1st choice paper....

"Wallis replacement"
For those pastelists who loved kitty wallis paper, luxarchival is remarkably close. So close that you may not be able to discern any differences. Hip hip hooray!!!!

"Wonderful pastel surface"
This paper is lovely to work on. It is not a harsh sanded paper but grabs the pastel very nicely. I also tried a watercolor underpainting and that was very luminous and atmospheric. The paper did not buckle. Highly recommend this paper.

"New choice"
I haven't had a lot of time to evaluate this paper, but I think it may become a new favorite. It has very good tooth, a brighter base color than UART, and it seems to stay flat even when I use water or alcohol for underpainting washes. I'm ordering some more!

"LuxArchival Pastel Paper"
It feels like Wallis Pastel paper. I am thrilled working with this surface. I am able to use my own style of painting without frustration. It accepts multiple layers of pastel.
I am so glad that you have this product available. The packaging was good and it arrived flat without any curling of the sides.

"Lux Archival Pastel Paper"
I love this paper! My go to papers are Uart and Pastelmat, but this will definitely be a new favorite! I especially love that it is white, doesn't have to be mounted for wet underpainting and takes multiple layers of pastel.

"Best in years"
I'm so excited that LuxArchival came along; it's the best new pastel paper product I've seen in years. I'm thrilled with the quality. It takes an underpainting beautifully. It is toothy yet very consistent, taking pastel strokes with no skipping or unevenness, so that there's no need to go back and retouch. I can use as many or as few layers as I want. The paper becomes what it should be, a support for my art.

"I am in love"
I've tried this new pastel paper recently (and a lot!). I can tell you it's like a marriage between Pastelmat and LaCarte (to me). It takes liquid washes/underpaintings super well and that tooth....smooth yet enough grit to move the pastel around. So far, no scoring marks or under marks that reveal themselves like with pastelmat and some pastelbords when in use. Holds a ton of layers as I paint. Have to say, I am in love. Paint mounted or not, it holds itself firm!
Many thanks, you got me twitching to add to my stock of this fabulous paper!

"A Terrific Option"
When I first tried this paper I was not a fan. Fortunately I bought a package so I continued to use it.
I'm now a fan and here's why: 1) Unlike other sanded papers it does NOT buckle when doing well underpaintings 2) The bright white color doesn't mute your watercolor underpaintings and pastel colors POP 3) The paper is stiff and is easy to work without a backing
4) Accepts many layers.
I'd like to see more options for sizes.

Love using this paper and how the underpainting and pastel react to the surface. A new favorite

"Very aggressive tooth"
I'm sure this would hold many layers however I couldn't get past the first. Too coarse for me. I prefer Uart or Pastelmat!

"LuxArchival Paper"
I like the tooth of the paper, weight, archival and the way I was able to apply many layers of pastels. I tried different brands of pastels and they all worked well on the paper. LuxArchival has become my new love in pastel paper.

"I Love LUXArchival Pastel Paper"
This wonderful surface takes many layers and lies flat. What more could a pastel artist ask?

"Lux Archival Paper"
I have done 3 pieces so far with this paper and I am impressed. I love the gritty feel and the thickness of the paper. I does really well with an alcohol was. It does not curl at all. I did fill up the tooth quicker than I would with Uart400 but I do tend to be a little heavy handed.

"LuxArchival Pastel Paper"
I found the substrate durable . It did not buckle when various wet products were used . It held many pastel layers and I liked the outcome . Since this was an experiment I ordered the 8x10 and I think I would like to experiment with a larger size.

"I’m enjoying the paper"
This paper has a lot of tooth and accepts many layers of pastel. The price is very good as well. I will order it again.

"Happy Again!"
For a long time, I have been disappointed in several pastel sanded papers. Then I got an email from Dakota about the new LuxArchival pastel paper. The description sounded good so I tried it. I can honestly say the paper lives up to its description and is a fabulous surface. I am a happy camper or should I say painter?

"Lux Archival"
I purchased the 8x10 pack of 10 sheets. I did a wet under painting and the paper held up without buckling. I also scrubbed off the painting I did and proceeded to put some gesso on the paper. It holds up very well and can take a lot of layers of pastel. However, I wish there were more sizes available, maybe 10x12 or 11x14.

"Lux Archival Pastel paper"
I have used this only once so far but I was very impressed with this product and can hardly wait to start another painting. I used watercolor for under painting which took a time to take but in the end looked great . The pastel applications went on smoothly. This might very well become a favorite
