Perfect color...not too dark or light or warm...great surface for holding the pastels and not gritty

The size is great, and being able to order a pkg of the just the colors I use most, or one I want to try, is appreciated.

Wonderful surface! Just wish they came in 8x10. I have to cut these down as many persons order 8x10 commissioned painting/drawing of their favorite animals from me

Touched the surface before use and thought no way this will hold much pastel, too smooth. It’s kind of amazing how well it holds pastels and allows clean lines and detail. A great surface, much less dust and waste than sanded surfaces!

I love Pastelmat paper - especially Sand color. It minimizes dust!

The paper is to be expected but I was impressed with the shipping. The paper was wrapped in plastic and several pieces of cardboard in the mailer so it came to me in perfect condition.

Accepts a lot of layers and fine pastel pencil work without a heavy texture. Big difference and improvement from most pastel papers.

I’m branching out from my usual paper Uart and finding Pastelmat a very versatile paper. It doesn’t curl like Uart and that’s a plus.

This paper preformed very well, accepting many layers of soft pastels! Using Terry Ludwigs, I could get depth and see the layers . It was easy to correct and change areas by dusting off with a bristle brush! The surface is surprisingly smooth but grabs the pastel. It was my first time using pastelmat and I hope to experiment with other colors! I will try the off white to see how it works too! I was pleased with the product.

Quality product, I like the Dakota Pastel prices. This is a bargain. I was introduced to this surface during a workshop. It uses up the colored pencil leads faster than most other surfaces, but the quality of the painting it produces makes a great difference when you have completed your work. Many pastel and colored pencil artists have found a new favorite in this product. I recommend it highly. I'd recommend artists view some of the videos on YouTube or other platforms to get a good feel for its potentials.

This paper can be used for any type of media. I have used this with colored pencils, pastels, watercolor, etc. The selection of colors is good and I use several different colors for various paintings.

This paper can be used in many ways. This can be used with pastels, pencils, oil pastels, watercolor and any combinations. Excellent for using an underpainting of watercolor and completing with pastels. The available colors are great too.

Pastelmat is my favorite paper to do portraits. Dakota pastels ships the fastest!

This is a wonderful surface to paint pastels on. It appears to be somewhat smooth, but has a grippy surface that multiple layers of pastel adhere to well.

This paper is great for pastels, pastel pencils, colored pencils, neocolor II and Panpastels. The color choices are great too.

I love this paper, however, after using a sheet plein aire yesterday, I noticed that there are grooves in the surface. Even blending will not fill the grooves. Upon retuning home I realized that the grooves were made by the corrigated cardboard had made the grooves. Both packs that i bought are the same. I wanted to make you aware of this, maybe the packaging could be updated. Thanks for great service, I reccomend Dakota pastel supplies all the time in my classes.
