Having several smaller sets of Terry Ludwig pastels, along with a good smattering of other brands, I’ve found my overall preference to balance out my range comes in gray muted colors and intense darks and still more Ludwig choices that are lovely blends, simply endearing. As I looked toward a summer workshop with Karen Margulis, I looked at her list and bought her 60 color set after much study. I could have pieced together colors from sets I have. But I would have missed some colors I was sure. This was an investment. But when I looked over the colors, I felt it was selected so very well that for the trip, using the same lovely set that Karen had curated and was bringing was a very conscious choice. It will likely save in time rummaging through sets to find my palettes.

Wanted these for years and finally just committed! Just arrived. Colors are scrumptious. Can't wait to use them.

This was my first Terry Ludwig set and, a year later, am still so pleased that I bought this set. It is so well thought out. I find it to be a comprehensive set, and when I'm using it, I find I'm rarely searching for other colors. I keep the pastels stored in their box. There are some great darks, values and lights. I don't think I could be more satisfied with any other single landscape set!

Yes, all of Terry's sticks are great. And I have many different sets. But if I were to pick one for overall balance of lights, darks and colors, it would be Karen's set.

I’m doomed! Pastels are new to me and after hearing all great things I chose my Margulis set of Terry Ludwigs to do her Patreon classes. These are gorgeous pastels and every one of them arrived safe and sound-none broke in transit! The colors are rich and beautiful. I will be adding more to my collection for sure (husband moaning in background) lol

This is a beautiful set for florals, creamy as usual for Ludwig pastels. I found many of the colors to be useful for portraiture as well-wish it had more bright yellows, reds, pinks and purples for the florals but will just HAVE to buy more ludwigs to supplement!

I am absolutely delighted with this set. I researched several sets and debated which Terry Ludwig to purchase. I was pleased that the set received was as depicted in the photo. The set has a rich assortment of dark and mid tones. I’ve been frustrated with other sets that had too many high key pastels. This set is exactly where I want to be! For now, I plan to keep this set separate rather than integrate with my existing pastels to assess efficacy with my approach.
