    "Master Pastelist"
I find this dry ground pastel necessary in my pastel collection for use as a highly pumiced ground for correcting an area. I can then continue working knowing that the subsequent pastel build up will adhere.

"I'm excited to try this new product"
I'm taking a Casey Klahn workshop soon, and he said these are a "game changer". I love all of the Diane Townsend products and can't wait to try these out!

    "Very nice"
I like this pastel a lot because it doesn't "fool around"! It goes right on and covers anything under it.

    "Townsend dry ground"
The white dry ground is wonderful,it can be used when on location and have run out of sanded paper.I have used it on top of pigment colors for a white and also light colors to lay on more layers or add texture. I just love It! Now the black is terrible and I am disappointed! The black as a ground made everything muddy, and no mater what I tried nothing worked. I hoped it would gray colors or could use it as a color!

The dry grit produces a pastel surface on smooth paper, like newsprint, which allows several layers of pastel. Pastels glide smoothly across the paper. I love it!

    "Great base for pastel painting"
Adds a grippy base if you like to layer a lot of pastels. Nice to use if you need to add tooth to smooth paper. It’s not as toothy as sanded paper, but extends the capability of a smooth surface. I’ve also used it as I’m painting if I need more tooth as I’m working. Can keep you from having to add a fixative between layers.

    "Fresh ground"
I prepared some boards with paint on pastel ground but really wanted a ground which was more toothy and alive. I like this product for that

They work well, although I haven't used them to their fullest capacity, so far I'm very pleased, will purchase more.
