I have several completely sets of pastel pencils for fine work and these have been a real addition to my supply with more colors and not just that; the pastel component is such high quality. They're my favorites of all the different brands that I have already.

The wooden box is gorgeous and holds the pastel pencils securely. I can put each one in its place without drama after using it, meaning that it is easily available the next time I want it, not disturbing my glow. The colors are lovely and highly pigmented. Best of all, the pencils are clearly labeled for light fastness. Five stars are the best. One or two stars are fugitive colors.

This was a real treat of a purchase and completely worth it. I had bought many individual Caran d'Ache pencils as well as Pitt Pastel pencils and a set of Carbothello. I was recently commissioned for a double portrait and found myself often reaching for the Caran d'Ache. At the conclusion of the project I celebrated by buying this set in it's gorgeous wood box. I couldn't be more pleased or excited!

I really like the pencils, and this boxed set has been great to use. The box is a high quality, wears well and looks quite attractive on my drawing table. The assortment of colors is pretty thorough. The pencils are medium, abit on the hard side, which I very much prefer to soft, soft pastels. The hardness allows for control on details. The pencils are a good compliment to the Caran d’Ache stick soft pastels, also not that soft. Top quality materials, they make for great pastel drawing.
