The actual pastels in box don’t match the lid. The pastels seem pretty desaturated. I do like their softness but feel pretty chalky compared to my den elite and scmincke half sticks.

I am loving my very first 2 sets of Great American Pastels. The price is worth it. I got both the Blues and Purples sets. The touch and feel and colors are simply luscious!! They are part of many pastel paintings already! I plan to order others when I can afford to.

This set of blues is incredible... Absolutely beautiful! The half sticks are bigger than I expected and seem like a very good value. I received them very quickly and in perfect condition. I will definitely be buying more of these Great American Half Sticks!

This was my first-time purchase of Great American pastels and I'm very pleased with this choice. A recommendation from Alain Picard's list of best pastels, the great sample of hues, and a good price point were all components of my final selection. Upon application, each of the half-sticks produces a creamy color with exceptional pigment. Previously, I purchased Sennelier pastels, but I wanted to try another brand for comparison. Consistencies among Sennelier sticks vary from creamy lights to hard darks (I did not like their dark values), but this is not the case with the Great American. I would definitely purchase this brand again.

Blue for everything -- sky, water, flowers, eyes -- perfect for landscapes near the sea. I loved that there was a little blank color chart that I could fill with the colors in the box. Lovely.

Again, the color selection is outstanding but the Pastels are too soft for my taste.

love the pastels and the blue-greys are essential for landscape. Only issue is the paper chart template. The way the sticks are oriented in the box is different from the way the corresponding spaces are oriented on the template. The darkest Bismarck is on the upper right, not the upper left. I didn't realize this until I had started filling in the chart, so when I got to Navajo and realized something wasn't right, I had to scrap it and make my own chart.

What a terrific set of pastels! Great colors, exactly what I needed. Cannot beat the price!

I love the softness with theses pastels. The assortment selection is perfect. The packaging and labeling with color chart is outstanding! Very very pleased!
