"Love the quality and the shape"
Wonderful pastels...perfect softness ratio and love the shape. I really am a square pastel lover. They offer the ability to make any kind of mark.

    "Maybe Reds"
I was anxious to try Great American, and I thought I would try the red set. The pastel it self was very nice, application was smooth lovely color. The colors however were barely red! Not one tomato red or primary red in the box. They were very novel reds! However, I like them I will use the colors and I am satisfied with them . The delivery seemed a little on the slow side but I do live On the East Coast.

    "So soft they crumble"
Nice rich colors but use a very light hand. They disintegrate.

    "Great American pastels"
I have only been using soft pastels for 2 plus years, so I am still searching for my favorite brand. I have tried Sennelier, Rembrandt, Mungyo, Richeson hand-rolled, Unison and a few cheaper brands. They all have their pluses and minuses. I found that the Sennelier brand was very inconsistent in the hardness/softness. The others seemed to be more consistent. Great American seems as good or better than any of the aforementioned. I especially like the square shape. I will probably buy more Great American pastels from Dakota Art in the future.

These are wonderful colors and soft pastels. Only one broken on arrival.

    "Dissatisfied"
While this is a good size pastel and good quality the colors I saw on my screen were more actually reds and the colors that showed up were not those reds. They were reddish tones but not what I thought they were going to be color wise.
