These are beautifully soft pastels. My complaint is that more than a few arrived broken and crumbled.

Love this set! It has a good range of hues and values, and I enjoy the creamy texture of the pastels. To prevent breakage, I learned to pick them up from out of the box from their ends and not from the middle of the pastels. In addition, the set arrived very well packaged from Dakota and no pastel was broken. All in all, I would recommend this set for anyone who enjoys using Great American pastels.

I have used these sticks in the past and found the texture excellent. This batch seems to be harder...I was considering returning. I tried out 2-3 sticks on test paper a few marks ..and found i needed more pressure than I did with my old ones. Was wondering if this is due to their production delays.

Excellent pastels for paper. Buttery, rich in color. This box has a great selection of tints and shades of several colors. And enough neutrals and dulls to make those brights pop.

l love the colors but my package arrived and a good number of my pastels are shattering. my art instructor, last night who saw the pastels and saw me trying to get them out of the box, said they are not how they usually arrive and i should contact you. she said once in a while she has seen someones pastels break apart like mine were but its not the usual. my girlfriends arrived in better condition than mine did. i do love the colors a significant number of the pastels are shattering when you touch them and i had to clean up the area around where i sat because there was lots of broken pieces

I had several broken sticks in my order. When I called customer service, they replaced them right away and with no shipping charges. They also offered a refund if I preferred. Very pleasant experience! Will definitely order from them again!
