Very happy with my Richeson Individual sticks...deliver gorgeous color blends and little dust fall-out on UART 500 sanded paper....wonderful!!

One of my favorite brands! I have a couple of richeson hand rolled sets and have really enjoyed them. Finding the individual hand rolled sticks on sale was really exciting! Violet 8 is my favorite for highlights. I frequently use purple colors and they have a large variety that is really fun to with with. Great pick for amateur artists!

Richeson is a stand-by great pastel for me .. those hand-rolled beauties and the terrages too! Any! Always happy in my palette.

These Richeson Handrolled pastels are great. They’re just the right consistency for me, not too hard and not too soft. I have quite a few individuals & I have several of the sets. The size is great too. The price is good & the colors are fantastic. I will continue to keep using these. They’re a great addition to my pastel arsenal.

These soft pastel colors have been just what I was looking for. I have been using Richeson soft pastels for a few years and much prefer them to pan pastel.

I am giving these pastels a 4 not because of their quality….just for the fact that they are made in China….I’m always concerned about the content used in them….with that said….I ordered a large landscape set the first time and loved them….so I’ve ordered more individual colors. They remind me a little bit of the Unison pastels.

I’m new to pastels, so have been experimenting with a few different brands. I’m not ready to make the plunge into some of the more expensive (although lovely) brands, although that may be in my future. But So far I’m very happy with the Richeson’s. Love the degree of softness, size, and price! Very happy with them and will definitely be buying more!

I really like the buttery softness of these pastels. Best used at the end of the painting for me.

I didn't know the Richeson pastels until recently, but I really like them. They're very soft, which suits me...and you can find some colors (in the Earth range), subtle enough to fill a gap in portrait flesh tints. The classification is not easy to follow, and they're very small, which doesn't facilitate the lecture of the numbers on the sticks. But, this apart, you can really find nice colors, subdued and delicate, and I think quite flashy if you go this way.

This is my first order of Richeson pastels. The colors are vibrant and the pastels are small in size.

Richeson hand rolled pastels, besides coming in beautiful, clear and vibrant colors, are the perfect size for discreet applications and mark making. They fit perfectly in my, admittedly small, hands which I appreciate very much.

I ordered 4 individual sticks in 4 specific colors and was pleased with how close the actual pastel sticks matched the online color chart.

Like everything I order from Dakota, these excellent pastels were shipped quickly and arrived safely as expected. I’ve been adding more Richeson handrolled pastels to my palette, and its great having access to them as individual sticks so I can fill in the gaps of my palette.

I really like these and am super impressed for the price. When I can afford to I want to get whole set! Dense, nice blending good adhesion! Also nice form factor! Good pigment load.

Dakota Pastels recently had a sale, and I purchased a number of these pastels primarily because they were soft pastels that were available in numerous beautiful colors. (For pictures of the actual pastel sticks see Richesonart.com.) The colors were as indicated on the Richeson website and they are gorgeous!

I've just started using these. The low price and small size are great. I prefer lines with a lot of colours and this one has it, 525 or so. These are not the softest but not too hard either, so they make a good workhorse pastel. I do wish they would expand the colours of their medium pastels to match this one.
