These are my preferred pastels I find them to be just the right amount of softness. What I am really impressed with is the way Dakota Art ships and handles everything so carefully and well. My pastels arrived CLEAN, packaged perfectly.

These are the pastels I use most often. They are great for underpainting thru finishing touches. Great color range. Dakota Pastels always comes through with secure packaging and expedient delivery. I’m happy!

I love Sennelier pastels for their colors!

I use a small selection of Sennelier pastels for final touches, especially where a pop of brilliance is needed. They are a very soft pastel, and I am too heavy handed to use them overall.

My favorite because of color selection, pigment quality and they are soft but not too soft(I can have a heavy hand).

My favorite white sharpened to a point. I like using it for eye highlights for my dog portraits.

It seems that Sennelier might have 'fixed' a longstanding problem--the crumbling factor. When I broke the ones recently purchased, they broke neatly in half and didn't crumble as had been the case before. Lusciously creamy and soft.

Lots colors and values. Only downside is that some pastels a fragile.

I was pleasantly surprised that this stick arrived with a redesigned wrapper and was in perfect shape! The wrapper is now a somewhat flexible plastic that must have micro perforations to tear off easily. I was able to remove the part of the wrapper I wanted and then score and snap the stick right where I wanted. The stick itself doesn’t seem crumbly like the first one I had.

I love the rich color and touch of these pastels. I tend to have a heavy hand, and these pastels go down rich and buttery for me, but are not so soft that I overdo it. I was replacing a few of my favorite colors, but I guessed wrong based on their color chart. I realize it’s difficult to print accurate color, just saying: take the time to make your own color charts before unpacking/ unwrapping your pastels! And, there are no bad colors, I’m still happy with my purchase. I’ll just have to keep trying :)

I feel so lucky to be able to get exactly what I need from Dakota and to try products I haven't used before. They are always so accommodating. Delivery takes a bit of time due to the pandemic but my correct order always arrives in the end.

These pastels are very creamy and beautiful. They spread smoothly and blend easily on surfaces.

I have been using 3 different brands of pastels in my work for quite a while. Sennelier is my "finishing touch" pastel that I apply at the end of a piece to accentuate certain areas that I want to "pop". Senneliers are soft and perfect this purpose. I don't think I'd use it for early layers because harder pastel brands won't sit on top the Senneliers without becoming "shiney". Dakota always has a wide selection of colors that I can buy in individual sticks (although they sometimes are out of stock of certain colors that I would like. There is usually another pastel in a similar color that will serve my purposes though.

These are very smooth, almost like handling butter. I like them very much. I then purchased the 40 half stick set, and like most of the colors. I would buy again.

I have some favorite rich colors in Sennelier that I’ve not found anywhere else! Super soft but does just what I want it to!

Excellent shipping, nothing arrived broken. Product is smooth as silk. I prefer this brand over Unison. Can't afford the T.Ludwig's just yet, but they are on my wish list. I ordered the 40 count assorted half sticks and I was thrilled that none of them were broken on arrival! Was a tad disappointed in that one half stick is def shorter than all the others. But that's only one out of 40. Also love the sample of the La Carte Pastel Card....now that I'm totally hooked on. Too bad it wasn't a bigger sample. I will be ordering this in the future. Appreciate the fast mailing too!!

I love the pastels, but they break so easily when trying to remove the wrappers. I wish they sold the half sticks. Much sturdier. The colors are lovely though and very rich!
