I tried to gently take one out of the foam and it literally crumbled in my hand removing it. I am gentle and understand they break so no undo pressure . I would not buy these again. Too crumbly! I like terrages and love them but not these.

Work great to create mist and fog. Love the sparkles the produce.

These pastels arrived in a timely manner, but three of them were already crumbled right off the bat. They are unique and sparkley pretty but so brittle you can hardly use them. Every one of them basically falls apart in my fingers. I would say they are to be used as minimal marks for accents only (as the description says). I purchased them to use for light value passages, but they don't hold up well enough for that. I'm writing this review as a warning although the description clearly states they are fragile.

The Diane Townsend pastels were beautiful. Very fine sparkle to add just enough interest in painting. Dakota staff was spot on I. Getting the order shipped out to me. Love this store.
