Michael & Julie will introduce you to the wide range of potential opportunities that exist in and around the coast as potential subjects to paint – from the obvious seascapes – through to natural still-life’s (pebbles, seaweed, driftwood, flotsam and jetsam), reflections, seabirds/animals, and manmade structures (sheds, jetties, etc)

With guided instruction from 2 internationally experienced tutors in a relaxed and supportive environment workshop attendees will explore textures, forms, light and movement of the coast. The three-day program will be designed to inspire and enable attendees to confidently explore, capture and realise their own coastal images as hyperrealistic pastel paintings.

In our workshop we will go through our whole process – from capturing reference images (photography) through cropping and creating the final reference image, methods of transferring the under drawing, creating the pastel painting, photographing finished artwork, through framing/storing.
