I am so pleased that I decided to purchase a few extras when I got my first set. These are outstanding in every way except one. The sheet of color selection in my later set is very difficult to understand as the colors are so small that you can barely read them. And the colors on the listed inclusion are off on the Website. It's better to call and let the Dakota team select the ones you want if you can't get there and pick them in person. I can say that they are amazingly rich, go down beautifully and easily and blend pastel to pastel if you do not care to use a blending tool. They are economical and a delight.

I was surprised to find such a gorgeous pastel line that fit my work so well. I have to purchase economically and I want to use pastels that work for me. So many times Dakota's family of pastel experts, April and Lance, have helped me choose what was right for me at the time. These are no exception. They are saturated, the right shape and a good mild weight for me. In my hand they work remarkably like Terry Ludwig at a much more reasonable cost. I have to get used to their larger size but I can tell that these pastels are just what I need. Give them a shot. You won't be sorry. I purchased the Primary set and was not sorry. I only wish they had a milde value version with all the hues to balance this out. I believe that next time I will get the Balance Set and following that, The Complement to the Balance Set. These should give me a chance to use them as a primary set in a great many paintings.

I’ve never used these before and really enjoyed working with them. They handle very well and are a medium softness. A little harder than Teri Ludwig’s.
