I have hundreds of pastel papers, boards, and hand made strata. They are all fun and purposeful. However tried and true Uart400 is my go-to. Dependable, consistent, delivers tooth and holds vibrancy of color. It's a luxury and joy to have them mounted on a board. Plein aire is easier whipping up a few sizes and heading out. Check out the smaller sizes. They allow artists to complete a work in a briefer time. Those 8x10 and smaller allow for quicker demos with small groups or protection equipment.

"Uart 4 ply boards 400 grit"
I was a little unhappy when the boards arrived with a considerable bowing. I was able to correct this with 5 days under my 15 lb dumbbell.
I like the grit on the U art paper so well it was worth the trouble but I hope future boards are flat.

"6x8 4 Ply boards"
As a Professional Artist I follow my own instruction and keep a daily practice. To that end I use these 6x8 for my color studies and Plein Air. They are a perfect size.
