This set of dark colors, almost black, bridges the gap between the blacks lacking in soft pastels and the other colors. Previously, mixing with black was unavoidable due to the limited range of products in this area. However, that's no longer necessary here. The colors are extremely spreadable, highly opaque, and have an unparalleled smooth, pure feel when rubbed. I selected a dark green for a background and a dark color for the figure from this set; both are dark enough to be considered black. However, when applied, there's a clear difference in hue. This slight difference in brightness allows for a sense of depth. It's a truly well-thought-out product; at around $10 per stick, it's a necessary investment because there's nothing comparable. My son sent it to me as a birthday present.
