I buy Uart in rolls because I can save when I cut what I need in the size that I need. Dakota is quick with shipping, and that's a big plus... I've found that if I can get the (acid-free) cardboard roll out of the middle, the roll of (just) paper is easier to handle... I usually get the #400 grit, as I apply many pastel layers and "fix" them with rubbing alcohol--never had a problem with the sand coming loose or alcohol soaking through--using a light spray works best, but sometimes I really get in and scrub with a stiff brush for more texture, and the paper stands up to it! With bigger pieces, I watch for buckling and sometimes roll it back up for a few days if the underpainting is particularly soppy--see the Dakota site for videos on dealing with this--I've never had a problem. Love this paper and am so glad it comes in rolls--am trying the dark charcoal color, just ordered a roll!

"Worth it!"
I'm grateful Uart rolls are available. Yes, the paper curls and you have to cut it to size but it is MUCH more cost effective than individual sheets and you can cut to whatever size you want. There's a little learning curve involved but once you get your own system, it's wonderful - cost-effective and convenient.
